Sonogram Results

I forget to post here on the blog...it just hasn't become habit. Some friends post everyday, just not me. I guess I don't have much to say or maybe it's just that I have a hard time putting my thoughts to paper.

We had our sonogram on Thursday...it's a boy! This is exactly what I wanted but more importantly, I want my baby boy to be healthy. I've had issues with my blood pressure; however, this week's visit it was perfect. The doctor was very happy.

Next visit is in four weeks and it will be the visit for the gestational diabetes test. I know everyone has to go through this...I'm just not looking forward to it. Any ideas out there as to how to survive it? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Until next time...happy thoughts to you. Give someone a hug or a smile today! It will make you feel better!

Exciting News

Well, it's official! We are expecting our first child. We were officially going to start trying at the end of this year; however, the Lord had other plans. After walking around in shock for about two weeks, we went to the doctor and had an ultrasound. After seeing the baby's heartbeat, I was in love and couldn't contain my excitement. We immediately went to my parent's house to tell them of our news and then on to my in laws. Everyone was surprised but happy for us.

Now the worry starts. I'm in my middle 30s and not in the best shape; however, since finding out about our bundle I have managed to have more care and concern for my health. I eat healthier and while I'm still too exhausted to exercise, I look forward to this first trimester being over. The doctor said my energy level will definitely go up! Thankfully I have not had any morning sickness other than some waves of nausea at night. The Good Lord knew that I just couldn't handle it!

My heart's desire is for a healthy baby. If I have my choice, I would prefer a baby boy; however, if God gives me a girl, I'll be ecstatic! I'm so excited to share this journey and hope I can be an encouragement to someone.
